Blogging lately has taken a more impersonal tone, and I believe that a blog should be a glimpse of who you are; a public foray into a life otherwise unknown. Although by blog garners attention for my walkthroughs and BlackBerry commentary, or so Google Analytics says, I thought it was high time I round up a more thoughtful, and emotional entry.Today I will be using Windows Live Writer.

This month, we got a puppy. She was scared and shy at first, but opened up rather quickly. She is much too rambunctious for my liking, so we’ve kept her an outside dog. Decided to name her ‘Sam’ as in Samantha from the Nickelodeon show ‘iCarly’. They’re personalities are identical!

Social Networking has taken some of the spotlight this month. I have reorganized my giant mass of Google Bookmarks, Redesigned my iGoogle page, Separated my Google Reader feeds by topic and finally deleted my MySpace. Just this weekend, me and Jose went to a Tweet-up, which is an organized or impromptu gathering of people that use Twitter. It was nice to meet the real people behind the tweets, and I had two beers and some sort of fried food. It calmed my nerves.

tweetup Afterwards, I took Jose to see District 9, which I had already seen with David. We considered taking Benjamin to the alien movie, but this is definitely not the type of movie you take a child to. Lots of exploding bodies and adult situations. Loved the movie, even the second time around.

As for my knee, Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday are physical therapy days for me. It was VERY difficult at first, and my leg just wouldn’t straighten. Things are better now, but I think I will have to go to therapy for one more month as I can’t bend my knee very well.

In addition, I really think the doctor left something inside my incision. It looks like clear plastic tubing/thread, and I have no idea what it is, I only know it shouldn’t be jutting out of my skin.

On David’s birthday,he was not at home but instead traveled into the mouth of Hell, which is also known as Juarez, Chihuahua? His paternal Cousin was brutally murdered. Someone with Hispanic decadency in the United States would know that all Hell has broke loose in Mexico, Juarez especially. Anderson Cooper covered it, Larry King covered it and even Obama discussed it. It’s a terrible drug fueled fest of beheadings, disappearances, mass graves, public executions and young ignorant Americans suddenly not coming back home. It’s quite terrible, actually. The cousin was battling drug addiction, which invariably put him in the position for such a brutal end.

Tech news of the month is that I got to play around with a Nokia 5800 Express Music and the HTC Touch Cruise, two of the newest phones my company is offering. Of the two, I prefer the Cruise more than the 5800. I find it more receptive and sophisticated in a user friendly way. An example would be that the HTC Cruise showcases a very cool TouchFlo main menu, along with a NaviPanel that is unique only to the Cruise.

The 5800 is very user friendly, which is great for novices, but disheartening for technophiles. The menus are nearly identical to what you would see in an older Nokia, but there are enough bells and whistles to keep a person complacent. It is a Symbian device so it’s passable.

VocabSushi is my favorite website this month, and although I did not attend school this semester, this is an invaluable website that I think everyone can benefit from. The premise of the site is ‘Bite sized learning’ and what happens is that you take a preliminary test that determines your current vocabulary knowledge, and then goes on from there. It really is a great site and I highly recommend it.

I am currently reading Popular Science’s Digital September issue, and Lipstick Royalty’s September Issue. Speaking of the topic, I simply CANNOT WAIT for ‘The September Issue’ movie to release on September 11th. This movie is a documentary of the famous (infamous?) fashionista Anna Wintour.

That’s all I can share for now, new September posts up soon!

  1. Sooo… How do ya like Live Writer? Does it play nice with Blogger? I usually write in Word and then do a cut 'n' paste and add vids, pics, or what have you to the post. The Tweetup looked to be pretty cool. I shoulda got off my lazy ass and drove over to The Big(ger) City, and now I'm sorry I didn't.
