I don’t like Clovis. So far, I’ve been robbed three times. Robbery is a part of life here in Clovis, since there an inordinate number of crack heads and meth heads who live here. Boo.

However, just because this City is quite underwhelming, it would be useless to be perpetually unhappy with the situation. And so the cliché goes: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

Decorating my home has been on my mind a lot lately. Combining that with my love of decorating blogs such as Decor8 and Casa Sugar, one is bound to become infatuated with paint, furniture re-do’s, wall art and room layouts.

Over the last few months, I’ve carefully collected and compiled a large collection of decorating inspiration and using Picasa 3, I’ve made a video of my collection for you to enjoy.

1. I am working on making a plate display wall. Thrift shops are great places to find mismatched, yet interesting plates. Disc Changers is a great place to buy plate hangers, and their range of sizes can accommodate even the largest chargers or platters.

2. Refinishing dining room chairs. We have two huge dining room sets. The first one was bought on a whim, and it was a floor model so with just a few months of use the huge table went wobbly. We now use a marble table with leather chairs, which I LOVE.

However, I have 6 upholstered dining room chairs that are now just floating in different corners of my house. I plan to sand them down, paint them glossy black and reupholster the seats with fabric from Modern Fabrics.

3. Creating wall art… I consider myself to be an artist, and although my Deviant Art account is quite bare, I can assure you my office is brimming with drawings, etchings and paintings.

I need to take the time to paint at least 3 large installments, which I already have ideas for, but haven’t had the funds to fulfill.

  1. You've been robbed THREE times!?! Yow! One of the things I love about P-Ville is the relative calm. I've had El Casa Móvil De Pennington parked in the same space for nearly seven years and am unaware of even a single robbery/burglary in the neighborhood.Nice job on the decor collage! I noticed lotsa different styles in there, some of them mutually-exclusive, no? And that Santa Fe market pic looked strangely familiar! 😀
