This months art piece is my most meticulous work yet. This piece is acrylic on canvas then coated with spray polyurethane. This work took me about a week to complete. It was made as a gift specifically for my friend Perla, who celebrates her 29th birthday at the end of this month. Perla has some Persian in her ethnic background and although Henna painting is not something specifically Persian, I thought about Eastern art and this came to mind right away.
I have been wanting to paint a henna inspired pattern like this for some time. In fact, I may very well attempt this again on a larger canvas and with a different color scheme soon!
