A blast from the past.

Mary Magdalene and the Da Vinci Code

I wrote this during my sophomore year at the University of Texas at El Paso for a literature class. I had at that time recently finished reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, and was so enamored by the book that I decide to make that my project of the year.

I put a lot of heart and soul into this essay and so it means a lot to me.

I like to think that it’s well written and apparently so did the English Department head since he invited me to change my major!

Hop you’ll enjoy this essay…if you’re not into this sort of thing, then it will be as boring as dirt. If you do understand it, then let me know how you feel! Send me a tweet @crysticouture.

  1. Thanks! No I didn't switch majors at the time. I kept my Philosophy major, but when and if I go back to UTEP, I might make the switch to English!Dan Brown is one good writer. I can't even remember how I got the book!

  2. Excellent essay, Crysti, well organized and well-written. So… Enquiring Minds(TM) wanna know: did you switch majors?I read The DaVinci Code as well, and promptly went out and bought Angels and Demons after finishing TDC… the next day, in fact. I passed both books on to my oldest after my girlfriend at the time had finished 'em. Good stuff. SN1 agreed, and he passed the books on to a friend after his family finished 'em. They might still be making the rounds, for all I know.
