Hello World!

I nearly didn’t blog for the entire month of February! Shame on me…but at least I’ve got a couple of bits to spew about, so this should be a fairly interesting entry.

Firstly, I am having my doubts about the online world. I don’t think I will ever get rid of my blog, and may even create another more serious blog in addition to this one in the future, but I do think that there are an enormous amount of services out there that require me to keep up with, and maybe I’ve spread myself a little thin. I wish there was a way to update everything at once…something that could update my Twitter, MySpace and Facebook status at the same time. Maybe there is such a service, and I just haven’t discovered it.

Every year, I go through a period of time where I go through my online memberships and cancel many of the ones I don’t use. I’ve cancelled a plethora of forum user names, social networking hubs, and online tools that I know I would never use.

So this is the period that I am going through now. However, as I go through my account list, I notice that I tend to say ‘well, I might need that for later’ and I kind of want to establish a concrete web presence, especially if I plan on becoming a web developer or software engineer. You never know, right?

I think keeping my blog is important. It keeps me sane for the most part, to have a virtual cloud to share my thoughts, ideas and life experiences. I don’t think I want to have Twitter, and maybe MySpace has lost its luster… I may not be white, but Stuff White People Like really does tell it like it is.

I may actually replace my ‘online presence’ completely (with the exception of blogging) with actual face-to-face contact and phone calls rather than texting. How scary! 😉
